Listen to the news

The Trade Desk Inc. (NASDAQ:TTD) shares are rising Tuesday. The ad-tech company started selling Skydance Corp.’s (NYSE:SKYD) pause-screen ads to Italian advertisers. Here’s what you should know.

TTD Opens Skydance Pause Ads to Italian Advertisers On HBO Max And discovery+

The Trade Desk said Tuesday from Milan that Skydance Pause Ads are now live in Italy on HBO Max and discovery+. Italian brands can purchase them through the company’s platform with Programmatic Guaranteed. Agencies and brands can fold the format into their Connected TV (CTV) plans using programmatic buying.

The Trade Desk is the only seller of Programmatic Guaranteed access to the ads at launch, the company said.

Pause Ads Show Up When Viewers Stop Playback

Viewers trigger a Pause Ad themselves by choosing to hit pause. Standard ad breaks interrupt a program, but this format waits for the viewer. The brand gains visibility during that pause, and the show itself stays untouched, The Trade Desk said.

The Trade Desk said Skydance is one of the earliest major broadcasters in Italy to offer this ad type. The company said buyers want TV-quality programming paired with the flexibility of programmatic buying, and this launch responds to that demand.

A Skydance executive described the format’s track record. Luca Nicoli, vice president of EMEA ad-supported services at Skydance, said Pause Ads rank among the top performers and favorites for clients on HBO Max and discovery+. Nicoli said the ads feel natural in the viewing experience and make an impact when someone steps away.

The Trade Desk Stock Has Fallen 75% Over the Past Year

The news arrives while The Trade Desk stock sits in a deep slump. Shares have dropped 75% over the past year and 67% year-to-date.

The slide began at a 52-week high of $55.11 on October 24, 2025. Shares reached a 52-week low of $11.62 on October 7. Tuesday’s trade price of $12.35 sits about 6% above that low and 77.6% below the high.

Tuesday’s bounce has not erased recent losses. Shares are down 13.91% over about one month and 37.62% over about three months.

The Trade Desk Stock Trades Below Key Moving Averages

The chart reinforces that weakness. At $12.35, the stock trades below its 20-day, 50-day and 200-day moving averages.

The 50-day average also sits below the 200-day average, which points to a longer-term downtrend. The 20-day average sits below the 50-day average as well. That shows the shorter-term trend remains weaker than the medium-term trend.

TTD Shares Are Climbing

TTD Price Action: Trade Desk shares were up 3.18% at $12.32 at the time of publication on Tuesday. The stock is trading near its 52-week low of $11.62, according to Benzinga Pro.
