
U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 100 points on Friday.
Following the market opening Friday, the Dow traded up 0.27% to 51,370.02 while the NASDAQ gained 0.28% to 27,270.15. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.23% to 7,783.75.
Leading and Lagging Sectors
Consumer discretionary shares jumped by 1.2% on Friday.
In trading on Friday, information technology stocks fell by 0.1%.
Top Headline
Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL) stock fell around 3% on Friday after the airline reported third-quarter 2026 results that beat Wall Street’s revenue estimate but missed adjusted earnings expectations.
Delta reported adjusted earnings of $1.72 per share, missing the $1.81 estimate. Revenue rose 21% year over year to $20.186 billion, beating the $17.654 billion estimate.
The company also cut its full-year earnings outlook as higher fuel costs continued to pressure profitability.

In commodity news, oil traded down 2.2% to $91.29 while gold traded up 1.5% at $4,218.10.
Silver traded up 3.2% to $61.325 on Friday, while copper rose 2.2% to $6.7150.
Euro zone
European shares were higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 rose 1.1%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index gained 1.2%, London’s FTSE 100 rose 1.2%, Germany’s DAX gained 1.3%, while France’s CAC 40 jumped 1.1%.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed mostly higher on Friday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 falling 0.02%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index jumping 1.79%, China’s SSE Composite Index rising 0.05% and India’s BSE Sensex gaining 1.23%.
Economics
The University of Michigan’s consumer confidence index fell to 46.30 points in October from 48.10 points in the previous month.
