F5 Insiders Sold US$3.6m Of Shares Suggesting Hesitancy
Share
Listen to the news

The fact that multiple F5, Inc. (NASDAQ:FFIV) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

F5 Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the President, Francois Locoh-Donou, sold US$1.9m worth of shares at a price of US$304 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$294. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.
