Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:TSM) rose sharply in today's pre-market trading after the company announced fourth-quarter results.

Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. said net profit climbed 57% year-over-year to a record T$374.68 billion ($11.38 billion).

TSMC shares gained 4.7% to $216.61 in the pre-market trading session.
