Listen to the news

West China Cement Limited's (HKG:2233) value has fallen 10% in the last week, but insiders who sold CN¥1.3m worth of stock over the last year have had less success. Insiders would probably have been better off holding on to their shares given that the average selling price of CN¥1.09 is still lower than the current share price.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

West China Cement Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the CEO & Executive Director, Jianshun Cao, for HK$1.3m worth of shares, at about HK$1.09 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is HK$0.96. So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it. Jianshun Cao was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
