Listen to the news

Even though Blue River Holdings Limited (HKG:498) has fallen by 13% over the past week , insiders who sold HK$36m worth of stock over the past year have had less luck. Given that the average selling price of HK$0.29 is still lower than the current share price, insiders would probably have been better off keeping their shares.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Blue River Holdings

The insider, Kitchell Bin, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$15m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.30 each. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (HK$0.14). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.
